Every Door is Slammed

Every door is slammed shut with the force of a door forced open at the end of the hallway,
One that was never meant to be opened again

Each time someone doesn't answer-
A door,
An email,
A text,
Feels like another one shut and locked

Bang
Bang
Bang
They go,
Riddling my broken heart with only more holes

Bang,
Bang,
Bang,
They go,
Leaving my chest an open void

Nature's Call

The earth is calling me.
I run with the wind,
Race with the bees,
Call with the wolves.

The trees are calling me.
I sit on the branches
Eating their fruit
Hidden forever in their leaves

The sky is calling me.
I lay on the grass
Night and day
Watching the clouds float on lazily by

The moon is calling me.
I walk outside,
Lay upon the moon soaked grass,
And gaze for hours

The stars are calling me,
They shine through the ones I love
As much as they do in the sky

The birds are calling me.
Luring me out with their sweet songs
I sit upon the dew soaked grass
Gazing about in wonder

The winds are calling me.
Beckoning,
Pushing me along with his cool feathers of wind

The sun is calling me,
Waking me up on the mornings brow

Embracing me in its tight, warm, rays of light.

They Don't Know

They don’t know
That just because I wear black,
And that I act tough,
That I’m not creepy,
That I have a heart

They don’t know
That I feel pain
That I watch the stars
That I feel love
That I enjoy the little things

They don’t know
That I’m different
That I’m not a freak

They don’t know that we are the same

They don’t know
That when they try to shut me out,
Try to treat me different,
Think they are better,
They don’t know that they shut a door

That they don’t know what’s behind it

Visible Layers

Visible layers are not always who the person is,
Sometimes, a single thought,
A strong thought,
Can turn a dark night,
Into a beautiful day

The future is deserved for passion,
But don’t let quick moments decide leaders.

Luminosity evolves into miracles,
So don’t forget,
Don’t let luminosity take your breath

Decay, hurt, and lies may feel brilliantly,
But visible layers are not always who you are

Now you know,
It’s your chance,
If you’re willing.

Lost In Moments (written for english class)

The smell of the polished floors,
The soft thump of those,
Twirling
Swirling,
Spiraling,
In a graceful flutter

I danced,
I swayed,
I turned,
And I learned,
We practiced and practiced,
Until it was the day

The excitement that came
On that perfect day
The day where we could
Just float away

Lost in the music,
Lost in the sway
Moving
Twirling
Swirling

Away.

Sunlight

Sunlight pouring through my soul,
Filling up what you stole,
Moonbeams lighting up my world,
Gleaming off the silver snow
Your spirit leaving, time to go

Laugh

I will not be afraid.
I will hold my head up high,
To look danger in the eye
And I will laugh

I will laugh with the bravery of a lion,
The wisdom of an owl,
The heart of an ox,
And I will just sit there,
And laugh.

A Dream Within A Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
-A Dream Within A Dream Edgar Allan Poe

A Poison Tree

I was angry with my friend;
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.
And I waterd it in fears,
Night & morning with my tears:
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.
And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine.
And into my garden stole.
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see,
My foe outstretchd beneath the tree.
-A Poison Tree by William Blake

Annabel Lee

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,

In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,

In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,

Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love

Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams

Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
